Officials identify pedestrian killed on I-5

CHP identified the person killed in a hit-and-run on Jan. 16 as 56-year-old Glenn Daniel Gray of Carlsbad. 

The crash happened along I-5, five miles south of Highway 46.

CHP said Gray’s car was on the shoulder of the freeway. He was walking for assistance and ended up in the slow lane where he was hit by a vehicle in the northbound lane.

A big rig driver stopped and notified officers. 

Officials from the Buttonwillow CHP substation said the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run left some parts of the vehicle at the scene but did not have a make and model of the car suspected.

CHP said there were no witnesses.

No arrests have been made.
