A motorcyclist is dead following a crash in South Bakersfield Friday night and police are searching for the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash.

The crash was reported just after 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Bakersfield police said the motorcyclist — described as an adult male — collided with one vehicle, then struck a second vehicle at the intersection of White Lane and Letzring Avenue.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the first vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, but the driver of the second vehicle fled according to police.

Police later found that second vehicle abandoned near Planz and South Real roads. Police are looking for the driver of that car described as a female in her 40s, with a possible dark complexion and wearing a white printed shirt. Police add that shirt may have possibly been medical scrubs.

Anyone with information is urged to call Bakersfield police at 327-7111.
