Kern residents who missed the deadline to register to vote for the June 5 primaries have another chance to have their voice heard, according to Secretary of State Alex Padilla.
The Conditional Voter Registration program was designed as a “safety net for Californians who missed the May 21 deadline,” according to the Secretary of State website. It allows people to cast ballots even if they are not registered, with those votes later counted once the registration process is complete.
The elections office at 1115 Truxtun Ave. is participating in the program. It is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Voters can complete the process until voting day, June 5.
