Memorial Hospital, Lauren Small Children’s Center receive awards for fundraising efforts

Bakersfield Memorial Hospital and the Lauren Small Children’s Center received two awards from the Children’s Miracle Network.

One is for raising over $100,000 during the course of the the CMN Mediathon on TV 17 on Dec. 13. The second award is for raising $1 million for all of 2018.

The awards were presented Wednesday to Robin Woodward, the CMN manager for Memorial Hospital.

Of course, the awards belong to everyone in Kern County who participated and gave what they could to enhance medical care for local kids.

Those awards also belong to over 40 business partners who raised money one dollar at a time through the “Miracle Balloons” campaign during 2018.

Memorial Hospital and the Lauren Small Children’s Center was the only CMN hospital affiliate on the West coast to receive those two awards for the 2018 fundraising year.
