Meadows Field Airport will receive over a million dollars in federal grants for repairs.
The Federal Aviation Administration made the announcement as part of a larger $586 million round of grant money to other airports across the country.
Meadows Field will receive $1.3. million to repair taxiways.
The grants were the fifth allotment of the FAA’s $3.18 billion Airport Improvement Program.
“These Airport Improvement Grants are investments in our country’s critical infrastructure,” Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao said in a prepared statement.
“This grant is a down payment to ensure Meadows Field remains an economic engine as demand grows.”
The grants fund infrastructure projects that include runways, terminals and other projects at U.S. airports.
