McFarland Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that happened overnight.
The shooting happened Tuesday night around 11 p.m. in the 800 block of 3rd Street, according to McFarland Chief of Police Scot Kimble. The male victim, 22, was transported to Kern Medical where he died Wednesday morning.
At this time, the identity of the victim is not being released, according to police. There is also no suspect information available at this time.

This marks the third homicide in the last 24 hours and brings out total homicide count to 63. By our count, Kern County is on track to have its deadliest year.
