There was lots of fanfare in Delano Wednesday evening as the community welcomed a new movie theater to the city.
A ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony as held at the new Maya Cinemas on Woollomes Avenue.
The theater officially opens for business Thursday, but Wednesday Delano honored the families of civil rights activists Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta and Larry Itliong.
The theater opens Thursday at 3 p.m. If you watch a movie, you can get a free popcorn through Sunday.
