Bakersfield police continue to search for a man accused in a deadly New Year’s Day shooting, and authorities confirm the man has previously been accused in another killing.
Edgar Lopez was shot to death on Jan. 1 at an apartment complex on South H Street, north of Planz Road.
Two other men — Martin Valadez and Adam Arellano — are charged with murder for the case.
Valadez is due in court on Tuesday, but Arrellano remains on the run.
The Jan. 1 killing is not he first murder charge against Arellano.
Arvin and Bakersfield police confirmed a jury acquitted Arellano in 2016 for the death of 28-year-old Daniel Abrego. Arellano was found guilty on firearm and gang charges, however.
