A man is recovering in the hospital after he was injured in an early morning fire in Northeast Bakersfield.
Bakersfield Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at a vacant single-family home on Lincoln Street around 12:43 a.m. When firefighters arrived, the home was completely engulfed in flames, according to Bakersfield fire officials.
A 54-year-old man was injured in the fire, suffering first-degree burns, according to BFD. He was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Firefighters successfully stopped the fire from spreading to other homes.
Arson investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
