Man hospitalized after New Year’s Eve shooting

A man was taken to the hospital last night with serious injuries after police say he was shot at a hall on New Year’s Eve.

Around 12:20 a.m., officers responded to Memorial Hospital for a shooting victim. Officials say the suspect was taken to the hospital by private means, according to police.

Through investigation, officers learned the shooting happened at Patino Hall, located at 425 30th Street, near Union Avenue and San Dimas Street. Officers located a crime scene in front of the hall.

Officers say the victim was shot several times but he is expected to survive.
