Man booked on murder charge after being found in house with body


A man is behind bars, booked on a murder charge Sunday after a body was found Saturday in Rosamond.  

Jaime Briseno Perez, 32, was found in the same house where the body of Kyle Ramirez, 31, was found around 5:15 p.m. Saturday in the 2000 block of Alexander Avenue, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office. Perez was taken to KCSO headquarters in Bakersfield to be interviewed by investigators.   

He was arrested around 3:30 a.m. Sunday and booked on first-degree murder and outstanding misdemeanor charges including providing false identification to an officer, according to the Kern County inmate database. He is being held without bail. 

The identity of the body found Saturday has not been released.  

Perez is due in court Tuesday.  

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine Ramirez’s cause of death, according to the county coroner.
