The Kern County Sheriff’s Office arrested an accused car thief who led deputies on a high-speed chase through East Bakersfield.
It started just before 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6 with a report of a stolen car.
Deputies spotted Daniel Padilla driving the car and tried to pull him over, but KCSO said he drove off.
After a seven-mile chase ending near the Bakersfield Municipal Airport, Padilla got out and ran.
Deputies say he broke into a nearby home and barricaded himself in a bedroom. He was eventually arrested.
