Edgar Barajas was fatally shot late Saturday night down the street from his home near Olivier Middle School. His neighbor, 45-year-old Javier Saucedo is accused in his killing. According to a search warrant, Barajas was with his brother, drinking at Saucedo’s house when he was shot.
Police said broken glass and blood in the driveway led them to believe there was a fight leading up to the shooting.
Barajas’s wife told police she was home when she heard two gunshots. Documents state she told investigators she came outside and saw Saucedo’s SUV speed out of the neighborhood.
Police obtained a search warrant to track Saucedo’s phone to determine if he was home when Barajas was shot.
Officers later issued an arrest warrant. Saucedo turned himself in last night. He was arrested on suspicion of multiple felonies including murder, shooting from a car and being a felon in possession of a gun. Saucedo is being held without bail and is due in court Thursday.
