Maddie’s Great-Great Grandma’s Fudge Recipe
2 sticks of butter
2 bags of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 jar of marshmallow cream
1 can evaporated milk
4 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups chopped nuts
1 tablespoon vanilla
Melt the butter in a mixing bowl. Add bags of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Add marshmallow cream and vanilla. Stir and set aside.
Add 4 1/2 cups of sugar and evaporated milk to a sauce pan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil stirring constantly for 8-10 minutes, until it reaches 230 degrees on a candy thermometer. Turn off stove and continue stirring for three minutes.
Add hot milk and sugar to chocolate chips. Stir until melted. Add two cups of chopped walnuts. Stir until glossy. Spread in a cookie sheet, cool in fridge.
