The U.S. Geological Survey reports a 4.7-magnitude earthquake hit an area north of Ridgecrest Thursday evening.
The USGS said the quake struck at around 5:42 p.m. The epicenter was recorded in an area 21.1 miles north of Ridgecrest.
It’s depth was measured at 1.9 kilometers, according to USGS data.
