BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The 50th anniversary of remembering the brave farmworkers on strike started this Saturday in Delano.
Juan de la Cruz of Arvin was protesting in a picket line across a highway in a Lamont area when he was fatally shot shielding his wife in 1973.
Family members at the event recall hardships that eventually led to better rights for farm workers.
