UPDATE: BPD says two missing teens have been found

UPDATE (Feb. 14): The Bakersfield Police Department has confirmed that Makayla Jade Nunez and Joseph Glenn Sanchez have been found and are back with their families.

We are attempting to get confirmation from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office about the third missing teen, Andrew Esquivel.

UPDATE (Feb. 13): Andrew Esquivel, 14, has also been missing since Wednesday and is believed to be with Makayla and Joseph.

He was last seen wearing a black Addidas sweater, black jeans, red and white Vans shoes and a burgandy Jansport backpack. He is 5 feet 6 inches tall, with black hair and brown eyes.

The family says none of the teens have run away before.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Two teens who ran away Wednesday morning are believed to be together, according to police.

It’s the first time Makayla Jade Nunez, 16, and Joseph Glenn Sanchez, 15, have run away, and they’re considered at risk, police said.

Family released photos of the two.
