BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — An 8 by 12 foot sinkhole forced a closure Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Chester Avenue and Brundage Lane.

The sinkhole is at the south end of the intersection on Chester Avenue and remained blocked off Saturday night.

The police department said the southbound lanes at Chester and Brundage will remain blocked off for an undetermined amount of time for repairs. The cause of the sinkhole may be a ruptured sewage line, the department said.
