Shooting leaves woman dead and man with apparent self-inflicted wound, KCSO says

STALLION SPRINGS, Calif. (KGET) — A shooting at a residence Wednesday afternoon left a woman dead and a man with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to sheriff’s officials. 

The man is in critical condition at Kern Medical Center, a sheriff’s release said. 

Stallion Springs police were dispatched around 4 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the 28-200 block of Preakness Drive. An officer and a deputy entered the residence and found the woman dead and the man wounded, sheriff’s officials said.

The Sheriff’s Office has taken over the investigation and the motive and circumstances are under investigation.
