Local News

A family stuck in the mountains is home free thanks to the sheriff’s office.

KCSO posted video on Twitter Tuesday night.

The sheriff’s office says the family had been stranded in a cabin in the Piute Mountains.

They had been there since Christmas and ran out of supplies. KCSO and Kern Valley Search and Rescue teamed up and used three snow cats to clear the way to get the family home.
