BPD: 1 person wounded in drive-by shooting in Central Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A ShotSpotter activation led police to the scene where one person was wounded in a drive-by shooting Friday evening in Central Bakersfield.

Police were called to the 1200 block of Bank Street for the SpotSpotter call just before 6 p.m.

Officials said three people in a car drove up and opened fire on the victim. The victim drove themselves to a nearby hospital for treatment and was treated for minor wounds and is expected to survive.

Police did not provide a further description of the possible suspects and did not identify the victim.
