19-year-old man arrested for alleged role in car-to-car shooting, crash into home in South Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Police are investigating a reported car-to-car shooting at an intersection Wednesday night in South Bakersfield. No one was wounded by gunfire, but an alleged shooter was under arrest.

Police and emergency responders were called to a neighborhood at Monitor Street and Ivy Trae Lane at around 7:45 p.m. Police said shots were fired at the intersection at Monitor and Ivy Trae and that a vehicle involved in the incident crashed into a home on Ivy Trae Lane.

The department says a woman reported being shot at by a man in another vehicle at the intersection. She was not hurt, but somehow a 19-year-old driver and suspected shooter crashed into a home nearby on Ivy Trae Lane. It wasn’t immediately known if the two knew each other.

The 19-year-old was arrested and taken to a hospital for injuries but it wasn’t clear if he was hurt from the crash or another altercation after colliding into the home.
