Man hospitalized after being struck by train in East Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man is hospitalized after being struck by a train in East Bakersfield Wednesday evening.

The collision happened around 5:45 p.m. at the tracks on Baker and Sumner Streets, according to PulsePoint. The man was walking southbound on Baker and was hit when he tried to cross the train tracks, according to Bakersfield Police. The man was taken to the hospital with major injuries and at last check was in critical condition.
