BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — CHP is investigating after a wrong way driver collided head-on with a ranger patrol vehicle that injured two park rangers inside.
The collision was reported at around 2:15 p.m. between a county park ranger patrol vehicle and a black sedan. Two park rangers suffered moderate injuries, while the woman driving the wrong way on Alfred Harrell Highway suffered major injuries, CHP Sgt. Richard Pierce said.
One of the injured rangers was able to help the woman in the other vehicle following the crash, Pierce said. Drugs or alcohol may be a possible factors for the woman driving the black sedan.
All three were taken to Kern Medical for their injuries.
Alfred Harrell Highway reopened to traffic at around 4 p.m.
