More than 4,500 Kern residents impacted by Southern California Edison power shutoff

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — More than 4,500 Kern County residents were without electricity Friday due to public safety power shutoffs implemented by Southern California Edison.

The utility said 4,533 customers were without power in Bear Valley Springs and Stallion Springs, and 324 were under consideration to have their power cut. Tens of thousands of other Southern California Edison customers across the state were under consideration to have power cut amid wildfire risks.
