Update: (June 20) — The rider who died in a crash Friday afternoon in Northeast Bakersfield has been identified.
The California Highway Patrol said 41-year-old Garry Don Poindexter of Bakersfield was driving a motorcycle when he crashed into a red sedan at the intersection of River Boulevard and Bernard Street.
Poindexter was thrown off the bike and was later pronounced dead at Kern Medical. The cause of the collision was not immediately known.
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — CHP is investigating a crash that left a motorcyclist dead Friday afternoon in northeast Bakersfield.
The collision involving a red sedan and a motorcycle was reported just after 4 p.m. at the intersection at River Boulevard and Bernard Street.
The motorcyclist was thrown off the bike and found injured down on the roadway. The motorcyclist was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
The cause of the collision was not immediately known.
