Man drowned after vehicle crashed into canal: coroner

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man found dead in June accidentally drowned after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a canal, according to coroner’s officials.

Alfred Juan Gomez, 40, was found the morning of June 7 in a canal on South H Street north of Panama Lane, a coroner’s release said. An autopsy determined cause of death was drowning due to blunt injuries.
