Boy dies after rollover crash in Shafter Friday

UPDATE: The child involved in the rollover crash that happened in Shafter, Friday afternoon, has died.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Jaden Jimenez, 6, died in Kern Medical Friday at 4:45 p.m. as a result of his injuries. He was a passenger of the vehicle that left the roadway and crashed in the 30000 block of West Tulare Avenue, just east of Poplar Avenue at 3:39 p.m.


SHAFTER, Calif. (KGET) — Shafter police said three people were injured, one seriously, Friday afternoon in a rollover crash on Tulare Avenue.

Officers were called to the single-vehicle crash in the 30000 block of West Tulare Avenue just east of Poplar Avenue at about 3:37 p.m.

One of the passengers inside the vehicle was airlifted to a hospital with major injuries, two others inside suffered moderate injuries, officers said.

A juvenile inside a vehicle that rolled over into an orchard was not responding, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Traffic Incident Information Page. Police at the scene did not say which of the passengers was airlifted.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Police said the Tulare Avenue between Poplar Avenue and Ryan Drive will be closed for several hours for the investigation.
