Horseshoe Fire burns 115 acres north of Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Kern County firefighters have contained a vegetation fire that burned for several hours about 23 miles north of Bakersfield on Tuesday evening.

The fire, called the Horseshoe Fire, burned about 115 acres in an area east of Highway 65, just off Famoso Road. 

The fire began burning at around 7:30 p.m.

Kern County Fire said the fire was at 100% containment.

CAL FIRE assisted Kern County firefighters with air drops in the firefight.

Kern County Fire also said a smaller fire, called the Tule Fire, burned less than three acres. It is also at 100% containment.
