Homicide investigation on Wilson Road

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Bakersfield police are investigating the discovery of a man’s body on Wilson Road early Thrusday morning as a homicide.

The Bakersfield Police Department was dispatched to the 3000 block of Wilson Road around 5:35 a.m. Thursday for medical aid.  

The call originally came in as a medical emergency to police dispatch, but when police arrived they found a deceased man in his 30s. 

When examining the body police discovered signs of trauma around his body and at that point started investigating it as a homicide.

The wound appears to be a gunshot wound.

The male appears to may be a transient due to the condition of his clothing and having his belongings with him in a shopping cart, according to Bakersfield police.

Wilson Road was shut down between Agate Street and Wible Road, but is now back open.
