Update: A child’s death is being investigated by the Kern County Sheriff’s Office after the child was found unresponsive Monday morning, according to a release from the office.
KCSO deputies and detectives were dispatched to the 9700 block of Stobaugh Street in Lamont. Medical crews arrived on scene and the child was declared deceased.
The investigation is ongoing.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Multiple Kern County sheriff’s deputies were called to a residence in Lamont and a coroner is on scene Monday morning.
Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies and emergency responders were called to a residence on Stobaugh Street, just south of Panama lane, around 7:30 a.m.
It is not immediately clear what prompted the initial report to law enforcement.
