BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — FEMA will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System Wednesday.
The test message will be sent to radio and television stations beginning at 11:20 a.m. Pacific Time, the agency said in a news release. It will not include the wireless emergency alert system that sends alerts to cellphones.
This year’s test will evaluate the readiness of the national alerting capability in the absence of internet connectivity, FEMA said. It will be one minute long.
