UPDATE: KCSO identifies man killed in collision with semi truck near Wasco

UPDATE (6/10): The Kern County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man killed in the collision as 34-year-old Joshua Mark Macut.


UPDATE (6/8): A 34-year-old Wasco man was killed in yesterday’s crash, according to CHP.

The department said the semi truck was heading southbound on Magnolia Avenue and stopped at a stop sign at the Merced Avenue intersection. The Wasco man was driving a 2015 Toyota eastbound on Merced Avenue west of Magnolia Avenue and hit the truck as it proceeded into the intersection.

The department said the driver of the Toyota applied his brakes and turned to the left to try to avoid hitting the semi but ended up hitting the right side of it, causing fatal injuries.


(6/7): BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The California Highway Patrol says a deadly crash happened Monday afternoon southwest of Wasco when a pickup and big rig collided.

The crash occurred just after 12 p.m. at the intersection of Merced and Magnolia avenues, according to the CHP.
