BPD make 1 DUI arrest, 1 warrant arrest and issue 29 citations during checkpoint

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET)– Police arrested one person on suspicion of driving under the influence, another on a felony warrant and issued 29 citations during a checkpoint held Saturday night.

Of those citations, 10 were for driving on a suspended license and 19 for driving without a license, police said.

The checkpoint was held from 6:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of Ming Avenue. A total of 814 vehicles were screened.

Anyone who sees a suspected drunken driver is asked to call 911.
