A Delano man is in jail after turning himself in telling a sheriff's deputy he had just shot another man, according to police.
Delano police say 33-year-old Henry Raymond Perez is suspected of shooting another man during a fight Friday at around 10:15 a.m. in the 800 block of 10th Avenue.
The other man was taken to hospital and is listed as stable.
A short time later, according to police, Perez walked to North Kern Superior Court in Delano and told an sheriff's deputy about the shooting and turned himself in. Police say Perez was carrying a .25 caliber firearm when he was arrested.
Perez was booked on a count of attempted murder and is due in court next Tuesday.
