BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A truck fire after a crash near Grapevine Road is causing major delays for travelers on northbound I-5 Wednesday afternoon.
The crash involved two semi-trucks around 1:37 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page.
Caltrans said two left lanes were open for traffic at around 7:15 p.m. Two right lanes will be closed for cleanup and emergency personnel.
Currently, the slow lane of northbound I-5 is closed as crews make repairs to the guard rail, according to Caltrans.
The highway patrol advises motorists to always have plenty of water, snacks and an emergency kit while you are traveling.
