On Wednesday night CASA of Kern County graduated their newest class of volunteers.
A CASA, known as a Court Appointed Special Advocate, is appointed by a juvenile court judge. The CASA will then asses the current circumstances of an abused or neglected child in foster care, report those findings and speak on behalf of the child in court. 16 new advocates were sworn in downtown Wednesday evening.
CASA of Kern County recently reached a milestone of serving 3,000 children.
