Building catches fire in South Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – Flames shoot from the roof of what appears to be an abandoned building in South Bakersfield early Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out about 1:30 a.m. on East Fairview Road near Union Avenue.

At one point firefighters had to use chainsaws to cut into boarded up parts of the building.

At this time, the cause of the fire is unclear.
