BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A brush fire Friday burned at North Chester Avenue by the Kern River, sending up heavy smoke and charring trees and undergrowth.
The fire burned about 1 p.m. That area has been the site of multiple fires, and there are small homeless encampments nearby.
