Kids took part in a fun, new way to read a book: Performing it.
Dancers from the Kern Dance Alliance performed “The Lion and the Mouse” at Beale Library Friday.
Books in Motion is a program that links dance and reading by focusing on Common Core standards for reading literature for children in kindergarten through third grade.
It’s a new take on engaging kids to embrace reading more books.
Performances will be held throughout the rest of the month.
