Bakersfield firefighters quickly put out grass fire off Panorama Drive

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield firefighters were able to quickly put out a small grass fire that broke out near Panorama Drive and and Manor Street Wednesday afternoon.

Fire crews responded to the fire just east of Manor Street before 3 p.m. Bakersfield Fire Department Battalion Chief John Frando said firefighters were able to take advantage of favorable winds to keep flames away from homes in the area.

The fire charred approximately five acres, Frando said.

Bakersfield Fire Department arson investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.

No injuries were reported.
