Appointment of new committee member postponed

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield City Council did not appoint a new member of the Measure N Oversight Committee as expected.

The Council postponed the vote because Council Members Willie Rivera and Ken Weir were absent.

The committee is made up of nine members.

But one seat is empty because a committee member resigned before the first meeting.

The committee’s job is to oversee how revenue generated by the Measure N sales tax is going to be used.
