1 dead, 4 wounded in early morning shooting Sunday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A man is dead and four others are wounded after a shooting in Southwest Bakersfield early Sunday morning.

Jeremy Charles Littlejohn, 20 years old, was shot in the 2600 block of Chandler Court, according to Kern County coroner.  He was transported to the hospital where he died.

The Bakersfield Police Department responded to a report of shots fired on Chandler Court around 12:40 a.m. Neighbors say before the shooting a party was going on in one of the garages.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Littlejohn suffering from gunshot wounds.

"We have a total of five subjects that had been shot, gunshots, from minor to moderate to major injuries," BPD Sgt. Christopher Feola said. 

An adult female was transported to a local hospital by private means and is in critical condition.

Three other adult males suffered non-life threatening injuries.

There is no suspect information at this time.

The investigation is on-going.
