Some local students are using the power of basketball to send local war veterans on the trip of a lifetime.
Freedom and Rosedale middle schools are facing off in a friendly game of basketball to raise money to send local veterans on Honor Flight, which provides an all-expenses paid trip to Washington D.C., where they’ll see the memorials built in their honor.
The schools are hoping to send four veterans this year after raising enough to send one veteran at last year’s game.
T-Shirts are $15. Tickets are $4 for adults, $3 for students.
The game is set for Thursday, March 8 at 4 p.m. at Freedom Middle School.
