BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — One local man is doing his part to combat homelessness…one meal at a time.
Larry Koman, President of Pacific Coast Adjusters and also a member of the Bakersfield City Planning Commission, decided to hold a barbecue for the less fortunate Saturday.
Over 350 tri-tip meals were served to those in need at the Bakersfield Homeless Center on Truxtun Avenue.
Koman says with homelessness doubling in the last 12 months, according to a recent survey, he felt compelled to do something about it.
He added he’s already planning on holding the event again next year.
