Several Bakersfield firefighters returned from fighting the Ferguson Fire.
The fire has burned near Yosemite National Park and has scorched more than 90,000 acres since it began on July 13.
On Monday, six Bakersfield firefighters returned home after a grueling mission to help in the firefight.
“It’s long hours and lot of hard work,” Capt. Michael Taylor said.
“We did a lot of activities that were very physically demanding. A couple times we had to clear brush around structures. We had an opportunity to wrap historical structures in fire retardant material.”
Capt. Taylor says he and his crew are grateful for the support they received back home and in the fire zone.
