Local family organizes holiday clothing drive for homeless

A local family is once again collecting warm clothing for the homeless and they’re offering those who donate something in return.

For seven years, the Estrada family has decked out their Southwest Bakersfield home with 20,000 Christmas lights, set to music.

They also collect clothing, blankets and toiletries for the Bakersfield Homeless Center and The Mission at Kern County.

On Saturday, Dec. 23, if you bring something for “Operation Warm Winter,” you’ll get free hot chocolate and cookies.

The home is located at 9305 Tahiti Ave. The drive continues until Dec. 29. For more information go to the drive’s Facebook page.
