A public safety dispatcher is being praised for her work, helping Bakersfield police officers reach a troubled teen who threatened to take their own life.

The Bakersfield Communication Center said dispatcher Jenny Goretski got a transfer call from Sacramento CHP.

Someone reported they received a Snapchat from a friend, saying the teen attempted suicide.

Goretski was able to quickly figure out where that teen was for Bakersfield police officers to get him help.

Because of her work, the communication center declared Goretski its Dispatcher of the Month for April.
