The number of DUI arrests made on Super Bowl Sunday increased compared to the last two years, according to police.
In total, 18 drivers were arrested on suspicion of DUI. The number is split evenly by Bakersfield Police and California Highway Patrol who each made nine arrests.
The nine arrests made by police is a sharp increase compared to the last two Super Bowl Sundays. Last year, BPD made five arrests, and in 2016 police arrested four drivers for DUI.
Police also arrested three people for domestic violence on Sunday, according to BPD.
