A 31-year-old man has been arrested in Kings County after being accused of raping and impregnating a 15-year-old girl he met online.

The Kings County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrested Hector Manuel Montez.

Deputies were notified of the alleged assault when a 15-year-old was giving birth in December and hospital staff notified the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office said the girl told deputies she identified Montez through his Facebook profile.

According to the sheriff’s office, the 15-year-old girl told deputies she was sexually assaulted in May by Montez when he picked her up from school because she needed a ride home. The girl told investigators she repeatedly told Montez to take her home, but instead, he drove her to a different location in Lemoore.

Montez refused and stopped the car, held the girl down and assaulted her, according to a release from the Kings County Sheriff’s Office.

Montez was arrested on Jan. 17 and booked into the Kings County Jail for rape and kidnapping. Bail was set at $5,275,000.
